South Bay grad makes case for movie about "Three Strikes"

Third Strike could be a win

FILMMAKER FOCUS: Deloss Pickett and Michael Dallum

Sundance Hopefuls for documentary 25 TO LIFE. See the clips at www.25tolifemovie.com or www.intheeyefilms.com

When Pickett and Dallum decided to co-write the script 25 TO LIFE, their hope was that the documentary could effect some positive change in repealing California's THREE STRIKES LAW. "Many people believe that the law inflicts unjust life sentences on people who have committed non-violent crimes……but just as many people deem the law a necessary regulation to keep society safe", states Pickett. 25 TO LIFE is a human story of people on all sides of this controversial law. Much of the shooting was done on location at 5 different California prisons, interviewing inmates incarcerated under 3 STRIKES. For the Super 8 segments, the filmmakers shot two different Pro8mm stocks, including a 250D and a 200T. Deloss states "The Pro8 footage gives an in depth feel for the mood and the grittiness of prison. It was used primarily on the original B rolls, including almost everything shot in all 5 prisons and the reenactments.
